Frequently Asked Questions

Simply click join WAVE and create your family account. Fill out the requested info for yourself and your children. Once submitted, your personal portal has been created, and you will receive an email confirmation with simple instructions. From your personal account, you can register for any of the classes we offer based on your child's age.

Yes — every WAVE class is direct pay. No reimbursement paperwork, no waiting. Simple.

After you create an account for your family, we'll send you an email with straightforward instructions on how to register for classes and pay tuition or fees directly from your SUFS account.

Never. We don't ask for volunteer hours, buyout fees, or donations. Your tuition investment covers everything. That's how we designed it from day one.

To apply for the SUFS Program, visit their website here:  Step Up For Students: Scholarships For PreK-12 In Florida

While we recommend the simple direct payment method for SUFS (PEP & UA) families, you may still opt to pay for tuition or fees with a credit card and seek reimbursement from the SUFS program. From your WAVE parent portal, you can download a Statement (paid invoice) with all the required info to submit for reimbursement as per the SUFS policies. Click "Balance" and then "View" to see statements. Note however that we cannot guarantee you will be reimbursed per the SUFS program. For reimbursement submission, go to the SUFS website and from "Category" select the "Home Education Instructional Program."

Expect this:

  • Strap in friends! It's going to be a wild ride of fun, game-changing life lessons you won't find in your average textbook, and the place to snag three lifelong friends - the ultimate WAVE advantage!

Bring this:

  • If taking multiple classes, we recommend a water bottle and a lunch/snack. There is a 10-minute break between all classes.
  • Check the individual class descriptions for classes you are enrolled in - some classes will list books, notebooks, etc. that are needed for the class.

Wear this:

  • Unless otherwise noted for a specific class (in the class description), wear comfortable everyday clothes, noting that no midriffs are shown.

Yes. A director will be in the lobby on Day 1 and thereafter to be an immediate point of contact and to assist with any needs.

  • Our classes are drop off.
  • Enter from the rear parking lot of Grace Baptist Church off of N. Montclair Ave. The address is 114 Kingsway Rd, Brandon FL.

Drop Off Procedure:

  • On Day 1: please bring your child inside to their classroom, entering through the rear main door of the building. Thereafter: drop off your children at the rear main door. A director is there to accommodate this process.
  • If your child is taking back-to-back classes, we will make sure they get to their next class.

Parking:

  • We have a large parking lot for your convenience.
  • There is NO parking in the 3 concrete spots on the south side of the church by the side door.

Pick Up & Release Procedure:

  • For students age 9 and under: parents (or listed contact pickup) will enter the rear main door to pick up the student. The student's age and matching authorized pickup will be verified, then released to your care.
  • Students age 10 & up may release themselves for pick up without a parent present in the lobby. This applies to siblings, where one sibling is at least age 10. Alternatively, if you prefer your child(ren) age 10 & up to wait in the lobby for the authorized pickup person to be present (walk into the lobby for pickup) for a verified release, email us with that request at info@waveoftampabay.com

If your child takes back-to-back classes, our staff will make sure they get to the right class. Instructors will have a list of your child's next class, including the room name/number.

When you originally registered your child, you were able to add any special notes. If you haven't done that and need to, simply login to your WAVE parent portal and select the student's name to add that info at any time. With that complete, our attendance records contain that information.

We will call and text the parent whose name is on file from the registration form. If we cannot reach you by that first step within a reasonable time and the situation necessitates, we will call and text the Emergency Contact that you listed on your registration form.

Policies, procedures and guidelines are found in your parent portal under "Waivers".

Once a plan for inclement weather is determined, you will receive an emailed update. Prior to a decision, you can visit our Facebook page to check out any input and immediate thoughts on the current weather situation.

For a calendar view (printable) of your child(ren)'s classes/events, login to your WAVE parent portal and click on Calendar. There you can view the calendar as a day, week, or month.
